Job Description
Primary purpose: The Podcast Editor and Coordinator works within our AV team to edit, schedule and distribute our suite of podcasts, and produce professional level audio assets for publishing.
Core responsibilities:
Distribution and planning
- Manage schedule with team members
- Update progress on trello cards
- Coordinate copy from editorial, publish podcasts and schedule EDMs
- Send out file requests and manage incoming files, set up Trello cards for new recordings
- Assist Media Production Coordinator where required
Audio and video editing
- Mix and edit files for publishing of audio content
- Maintain publishing schedule
- Produce and schedule ads for podcast network
- Produce and publish short form video content (not essential but advantageous)
Core skills/capabilities:
- Professional level audio editing, mixing knowledge and technical competence
- Experienced short form video editor
- Well organized with solid planning and time management to meet multiple deadlines
- Effective communication with colleagues, and ability to escalate problems and suggest solutions
- Take responsibility for own workload and keeping others informed, highlighting potential problems and suggesting solutions
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and priorities tasks
- Take action to maintain quality of work
- Ability to establish and follow work processes
Experience and qualifications:
- Bachelor of Audio Visual, media, comms or relevant degree
- Experience editing podcasts and/or broadcast in a media environment or in content creation desirable
- Knowledge working in Adobe creative cloud – Audition, Premier Pro etc.
- Knowledge of podcast publishing platforms desirable but not essential
- Knowledge of MS Office and Google applications
