About the QC & Publishing Ops Manager

The QC & Publishing Ops Manager leads Audiochuck's QC & Publishing Ops department, overseeing the full lifecycle of content distribution across podcast, video, VOD, and streaming platforms. This role manages and develops the QC & Publishing Ops team, executes and refines how content is published and delivered, and ensures Audiochuck's high standards are maintained across every platform and distribution channel.

Working closely with the VP of Production Management and partners across post-production, editorial, marketing, web, and engineering, the QC & Publishing Ops Manager runs the day-to-day distribution process and owns publishing standards across the department.

This role is ideal for a hands-on operations leader who is energized by accuracy, clear process, and developing a small, high-performing team.

What You'll Do

Team Leadership & Development

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of two QC & Publishing Ops Coordinators through regular 1:1s, goal setting, and professional growth support
  • Define roles, responsibilities, and workflows to ensure accountability and minimize duplicated effort
  • Serve as the escalation point for platform issues, failed deliveries, content emergencies, and cross-functional conflicts
  • Foster a culture of accuracy, ownership, and continuous improvement
  • Participate in hiring, performance, and pay recommendations for direct reports

Distribution & Platform Operations

  • Own the content distribution process across Simplecast, Tubi, our FAST channel, and other distribution partners
  • Lead FAST channel operations, setting standards for EPG accuracy, programming schedules, and asset delivery
  • Serve as the day-to-day operational contact for RSV content deliveries in partnership with the VP of Production Management
  • Ensure Tubi, FAST channel, and VOD deliveries consistently meet platform specifications
  • Set standards for Media RSS (MRSS) feed accuracy across AVOD and FAST distribution partners

Content Quality & Standards

  • Set and enforce QC standards for all final audio and video deliverables
  • Build and maintain the department's standards framework, including file delivery specs, metadata schemas, and QC checklists
  • Review and approve team-authored SOPs to ensure documentation is accurate, complete, and followed
  • Uphold Audiochuck's standards for ethical storytelling, production quality, and audience experience

Cross-Functional Partnership

  • Serve as the primary QC & Publishing Ops liaison to post-production, editorial, marketing, web, and engineering
  • Partner with audio, video, and production leadership to align on schedules, delivery requirements, and dependencies
  • Ensure the team has clear visibility into the post-production schedule and meets all publishing deadlines

Operations & Reporting

  • Report on platform performance, including on-time publish rate, failed or late deliveries, QC error rate, and EPG accuracy
  • Oversee ad-marker placement and insertion QC, escalating to Ad Ops as needed
  • Evaluate and implement tooling, workflow, and automation improvements to support future scale
  • Oversee asset organization, file naming conventions, and archiving protocols in coordination with post-production

What Success Looks Like

  • Content publishes on time across every platform, and failed or late deliveries are rare and resolved quickly
  • QC error rates stay low and deliverables consistently meet platform specifications
  • EPG data, programming schedules, and MRSS feeds are accurate across FAST and AVOD partners
  • Publishing standards, QC checklists, and SOPs are documented, current, and consistently followed
  • The team has clear roles, regular development conversations, and room to grow
  • Cross-functional partners have clear visibility into delivery timelines and know how to escalate issues

What You'll Bring to the Table

  • 7+ years of experience in QC and publishing operations, digital distribution, or media operations at a digital media company, podcast network, or streaming service
  • 3+ years of people management experience, with a demonstrated ability to develop and lead a small team
  • Hands-on experience managing content delivery across podcast hosting, AVOD (Tubi or similar), and FAST or linear channel distribution
  • Strong working knowledge of video file formats, codec specs, closed captioning standards, and platform delivery requirements
  • Experience managing RSS podcast feeds and working with hosting platforms such as Simplecast or equivalent
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain standards, SOPs, and cross-functional workflows
  • Experience managing external vendor or distribution partner relationships
  • Excellent organization, communication, and prioritization skills
  • Passion for polished, responsible storytelling that reflects Audiochuck's brand and values

Preferred

  • Experience with FAST channel operations, including EPG management and linear scheduling tools
