About You:

As a Video Editor at Higher Ground, you will be responsible for producing visually compelling and dynamic videos that resonate with our community. The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of TikTok, YouTube Shorts, YouTube long form, and pop culture entertainment.

Key Responsibilities

Video Editing

• Edit and assemble raw footage into polished, engaging videos for social media platforms

• Deliver high-quality edits aligned with the brand’s style

• Apply short form retention-based editing strategies

• Use comedic timing to enhance engagement

Platform Expertise

• Demonstrate deep knowledge of YouTube Shorts, TikTok, and IG content

• Optimize videos for each platform based on audience behavior and retention

Creative Storytelling

• Collaborate with creators to shape compelling narratives

• Use innovative editing techniques to improve watchtime and viewer experience

Quality Control

• Review video and audio for consistency and professionalism

• Troubleshoot technical issues to ensure flawless final products

• Deliver edits efficiently and on deadline

Collaboration

• Work closely with creators, producers, and team members to align on creative vision

• Apply feedback quickly and effectively

Trend Awareness

• Stay current on video editing, content, and entertainment trends

• Introduce new editing approaches to keep content fresh and engaging

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Video Editor with a portfolio showcasing short form and long form work

• Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, and other editing tools

• Deep knowledge of YouTube, TikTok, and social video trends

• Strong grasp of pop culture, sports, gaming, and fashion

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills

• Self-starter who owns workflows and meets deadlines with minimal oversight.
